City of Joy

This city is entertaining in the mornings. Peak hour rush in the trains, the start of my daily schedule looks quite interesting. You can figure people out by the way they are dressed while riding on trains, or walking the busy streets,or the coffee houses or the ones spilling out of trams. There are these slickly dressed men and women in black (the only colour approved), high heeled shoes, lovely scarves and jackets and spot on... they are the big corporate class. They all look the same, walk the same and talk the same. Then there are the students..loosely dressed in jeans and pullovers carrying gigantic bags. then there are the tourists who look lost and they chat away to glory with random people.
No one talks but all listen to music with earplugs in their ears and a book/paper in their hand (I do the same). someone always faints due to claustrphobia in the crowd.
In all this hustle & bustle, the train always stops in the city loop due to network congestion or other unavoidable issues that metro is so good with. The city is filled with random junkies, old sneering seniors, pit diggers, fashionistas, joggers, hawkers, etc etc

And amidst all this, once in a while if u r lucky comes along few people who care, who go the extra mile, who accepts your quirkiness and idiosyncrasies.
These are your friends who become family.

Maa

These bonds we share
almost spiritual in nature
A predefined pattern stated we were destined for love
oh mother, you waited with your arms open
I knew i was your child even before I was born!
